You know you have lived in Madrid when.....

..hittade den där jätteroliga facebook gruppen "you know you have lived in Madrid when" och så är det en lista på massa saker. Trots att jag bara varit här i 7 veckor (idag) så har jag nog sett/gjort med än hälften, haha kul att det är samma för alla som kommer hit. :-) Det som är ifyllt svart har jag gjort!

. When a chupito gratis is what you have waited for all week.
2. When prostitutes are around putting you off your breakfast.
3. When you fill your pockets with important things as a bag offers no protection from those pesky criminals.
4. When you see old ladies with their shopping carts out at 2am.
5. When you stay out until 6am when the metro starts up again.
6. When you can go to a bar and get hammerd on 3 euros then you go to a club and are charged 10 for a bottle of water.
7. You know what croquetas are and love them.
8. There is only one Subway in the whole city...and yes I mean sandwiches.
9. You have grown to actually quite enjoy the staring people out on the metro thing.
10. You have a pot of 1 and 2 cent coins and will NEVER be able to use them.
11. You don't bat an eyelid anymore seeing a few limbless people begging in the street.
12. Some of the buskers are actually really good, not like those at home.
13. The bear is where you always meet. I love that bear.
14. You have seen the fake Winnie The Pooh, Mickey, Shrek etc in Retiro.
15. A gypsy has tried to sell you grass in Retiro.
16. You arrived here thinking people look silly using a fan, but now you don't leave the house without it.
17. You saw people in heavyweight anoraks in June when it was warmer than any British summer would be.
18. You were the first one in flip flops...and got strange looks for doing so.
19. You have seen the countless street 'entertainers' who do not move for hours...and wanted to poke them.
20. You have had many a drunken chat with an American, Australian, Brit, German or Scouser on a stag weekend.
21. You know where Dubliners is. And it is your second home.
22. You have been to Kapital...and love it every time.
23. You are becoming a house music convert.
24. You only go into McDonalds, KFC etc to use the toilets.
25. You have met some amazing people who you will remember for a long time.
26. You have played 'He is gay, he is not gay' many times.
27. You have been hissed at as though you are a cat.
28. You have longed for a seaside to be at least somewhere nearby.
29. You have seen Desperate Housewives, The Simpsons, Lost, Prison Break, Grey's Anatomy, 24, Sweet Valley High, Sabrina, Friends etc etc in Spanish 5 times a day.
30. You know what an ABONO is and you use it every day at least twice.
31. You don't understand the fascination with Horchata or Cola Cao or Nesquik.
32. People think you are weird because you eat cereal for breakfast.
33. Milk is always room temperature and gross.
34. You have seen Aqui Hay Tomate.
35. You have been on Telemadrid. Haha.
36. You have seen some famous people.
37. You have been into a 5 star hotel for a drink. Like that would ever happen at home.
38. You have used an umbrella twice in 6 months. And not necessarily because it was raining.
39. You have shopped waaaay too much. Oh well. Which sane person could leave the 15 euro shoes behind?
40. You have drank a 3 euro litre of vodka. Bargain but you will never do it again.
41. It seems to be that women in these parts have not yet discovered lady razors or deodrant.
42. You want to stay here forever despite this.
43. The average height is 5 foot 3, male and female, but you cannot buy a pair of jeans that aren't made for giant legs.
44. You have been sneezed on. With the snot.
45. You have had sunflower seed shells spat at you by a businessman in a suit.
46. A cafe con leche is actually leche con cafe. Which is why Starbuck's is the best place for coffee.
47. You have inhaled more cigarette smoke in one night than in the rest of your life.
48. You have to dodge bricks, metal poles, skips at least 5 times a day as 3/4 of Madrid is en obras.
49. You have never walked as much in your life before you came here.
50. You know where the nearest El Corte Ingles is.
51. You now know that Museo del Jamon is not actually a ham museum.
52. You have been amazed at the castle-like post office/Palacio de Comunicaciones. Mine is just a corner shop.
53. Sleeping on public transport between the hours of 2-3pm is normal.
54. You know what the clicky, throw up in the air, magnetic things are that they try to sell in Sol. And you hate them.
55. Although at first you refused, you have been on the open-top, red, Madrid Vision bus.
56. You know and love VIPS.
57. You are not so sure about Rodilla.
58. You have been amazed that many bars and clubs have open roofs and it's not in the slightest bit chilly.
59. Mahou rules.
60. Even though you aren't much of a football aficionado, Santiago Bernabeu was actually quite something.



46 av 60, haha! Jag tycker att den här listan nog är det bästa sättet för er att få en riktig insikt hur det är här i Madrid. Det är verkligen SÅ här, spot on! xD
